Some Answers to Your Questions

Q: What is Argentium Sterling Silver?

A: I choose to work in Argentium Sterling Silver vs. traditional Sterling Silver because I truly feel it produces a more beautiful, durable piece of jewelry. Here is a little information on Argentium.

Argentium silver 935 is a modern sterling silver alloy, containing 93.5% silver. The traditional sterling alloy (92.5% silver + 7.5% copper) is modified by removing some of the Copper and adding the metalloid germanium. Finished jewelry made in Argentium is harder, stronger, and more durable than traditional Sterling Silver. This means that Argentium silver pieces are more resistant to damage from scratches, denting, and deformation—this is particularly beneficial for jewelry items that are regularly worn.

Argentium is tarnish-resistant as the germanium forms a barrier to the copper (copper is why Sterling Silver tarnishes), significantly decreasing tarnish.

Argentium is also hypoallergenic and most people that are allergic to regular Sterling Silver can wear Argentium without allergies.

Argentium silver is known as the responsible silver:
-Argentium guarantees the traceability of its raw silver.

-It is certified that Argentium is produced using only recycled silver.
-Argentium’s unique and superior properties reduce manufacturing time, labor, and resources.
-Argentium alloys do not contain nickel.

Q: How do I care for my new jewelry?

A: For the most part, an old soft toothbrush and a little soap and water do the trick! after gently washing, buff with a soft cotton cloth.

If the piece you have is bright silver, meaning no oxidation or blackening, also feel free to use a polishing cloth.

much of the jewelry I make is oxidized or blackened. Don’t use a polishing cloth or any other silver polish, or you will remove the oxidation. You don’t want to remove this finish, as it was purposefully added to bring out the design, texture, and pattern, or simply add depth. just clean (soap and water) and buff the surface or high spots (where there isn’t any oxidation).

Q: Can you create a custom piece for me?

A: I love collaborating on custom orders!  Email the details of your custom request to rina@purewhimsyjewelry.com, or text or call me at 352-519-6656. I’ll look forward to the conversation.

Q: How long does custom work take?

A: Custom work times vary depending on the details of the piece and the method used to create it. On average, a custom order will take anywhere from 2-6 weeks. Simple customizations such as a request for an item with a different gemstone or in a different size can usually be done quickly and may ship in 1-2 weeks.

Q: How do I get my Ring size?

A: The absolute best way of getting your ring size is to go to your local jewelers and ask them for the size you. l might also suggest that you ask to have several fingers sized in case you ever want to purchase a ring for an alternate finger.

If you cannot get to a jewelry shop for some reason, here are two ways you can get a measurement - see How to measure your finger

If you are ordering a solid, non-adjustable ring, PLEASE take the time to get your finger professionally sized. If the ring is adjustable, then the alternate home methods work just fine

Q: How do I determine my wrist size?

A: You simply need to measure it using- see Bracelet measuring guidelines

I will make any necessary adjustments depending on the type of bracelet you are ordering. I may also email to be sure we are on the same page!

Q: When will my jewelry ship?

A:  I am a small business and everything is handmade!  Of course, I work really hard to get things out the door ASAP, however, please allow up to 7 days, as lots of love goes into each item made. This processing time does not include shipping time.  During peak holiday periods, this may be longer. See shipping policy for more details (LINK)

Q:  My order is a gift, will the package include pricing information?
A:  No need to worry!  Packages do not have any pricing information.

Q:  What are your Return and exchange policy?
